Ten Capilano University students have made the list of winners for Applied Arts 2011 Student Awards. Judges from across North America graded the stunning entries, which came from as far away as Santiago, Chile; Berlin, Germany; and Moscow, Russia. The judges praised the originality and innovation of the works, as well as the professional quality of many of the pieces.
The Cap student winners are: Andrew Schick, Drew Young, Ivy Chan, Katie So, Markus Wreland, Gabriel Hall, Miguel Molina, Miranda Hebert, Sarah Taylor and Xiuyuan Zhang.
All winning works will be showcased in the November/December 2011 issue of the magazine, the Winners Gallery on its website and at its annual Winners Exhibit, which will be held on Wednesday, October 26 and Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Artscape Wychwood Barns in Toronto.
Applied Arts recently spotlighted the student works of Miranda Hebert, Drew Young and Miguel Molina on its blog.
In addition, Cap IDEA student, Miguel Molina, was the winner June 29 in the student award category of Design Edge Canada’s 2011 Regional Design Awards. Congratulations to all!
