Choral intensive brings a crowd of singers to Capilano University

Cap Choral Intensive 2012 saw 180 singers from high schools, community choirs and Cap U coming together on January 28 in the North Shore Credit Union Centre for the Performing Arts for 12 hours of amazing learning and singing. Under the capable direction of Richard Nace from Seattle, participants developed choral skills, vocal technique, expressiveness and musicality, while enjoying making new choir friends. Participants came from as far as Chilliwack to be challenged and stimulated by a master teacher and conductor. Richard Nace also spent some time working with the Capilano U conducting class.

An annual event, Cap Choral Intensive is designed for music students grades 10 to 12 and young-at-heart adult singers from the community. Together they bring to performance readiness specially-selected pieces and present them at an evening concert. Plans for next year’s Intensive are already underway.

If you have young singers in your life, tell them to watch for information on the Music Diploma website .
